I suggest that you can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly, which will enlarge you chance to get hired. I would like to recommend you a networking jobsite--jobirn.com.It is basically a job board while it has functions of social network. You can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly just via the chat box of the site. Moreover, you can conduct video interview if you like. You can even add other members to "My Contacts" list and establish your social network for career. I hope you can find yourself the ideal job. Good luck!

wow, why is everyone here trying to push their web Services instead of helping fellow human beings.
Anyway back to the topic. I work with several developers and one thing they are is that they are GOOD. They do not necesarily have had prior Financial experience, but they are superb programmers.
I suggest that you take up consultant gigs in the Financial firms and do a damn good job. They you try an internal move.
BTW I am also a Master in Financial Engineering grad (currently in structured finance). If you are good in software writing, you will land a good gig in finance.

I am a software developer with very little finance experience. What are the prospects of landing a job in a trading/brokerage/hedge fund/risk mgt/mutual fund firm working with traders/brokers/Financial svc pros in a software job?
