from the run command type in dxdiag. this will tell you what you got.

OR just install 9c, but there is a 10 out there now.

Go to Start > Run, type in dxdiag, press Enter. This will also display your directx version (right on the upcoming 'System information' page).

If you have Vista, you can press the shortcut WINDOWS+R to get the Run dialogue.

How do I find out my current directx version the quickest? And will it be bad if I will just launch a 9.0c version installer if I already have it?
