Mechanical engineers are projected to have 4 percent employment growth over the projections decade,
slower than the average for all occupations.
This is because total employment in manufacturing industries—in which employment of mechanical engineers is concentrated—is expected to decline. Some new job opportunities will be created due to emerging technologies in biotechnology, materials science, and nanotechnology. Additional opportunities outside of mechanical engineering will exist because the skills acquired through earning a degree in mechanical engineering often can be applied in other engineering specialties.
Mechanical engineers average pay:
Lowest 10% $45,170
Lowest 25% $55,420
Median $69,850
Highest 25% $87,550
Highest 10% $104,900
Mining and geological engineers, including mining safety engineers are a totally different group of specialist. does your boyfriend have the technical skills to go into this field?
Mining and geological engineers, including mining safety engineers are expected to have 10 percent employment growth over the projections decade, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
the bottom 10% and 25% on average make less then mechanical engineers
but the median and up ranges make more per year on average. |

My bf is becoming an Engineer and he and I were wondering how much they make? He is becoming a mechanical engineer and where we live there is a high demand for engineers, there are oil rigs and mines and tons of other things he could work with. How much would he make?
* planning to move out and it would be helpful to have an idea of how much he makes* |
