floating menu by RachelI created a hybrid menu system that uses CSS for the basic menu positioning (up, down, right, or left) for unordered lists (UL and LI tags) and javascript for improved placement (e.g. if the menu is opening near a window edge). It also deals with issues of IE layer stacking. Javascript hooks are added "just-in-time" using one "script" attribute per top-level menu. It currently just handles basic text menus, but could be extended to support icons. floating menu by Miles this depends on if you wish to use javascript or css for the menus. These days: 1. css drop down menus are preffered due to higher browser compatibility. (javascript is more often swtiched off that css). 2. Drop down menus are generaly not se friendly as links are hidden. an example of a css drop down: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/final_dro... floating menu by John ...under the image. I want the menu to float underneath it somehow. Also it would have to float over other cells. |
