frequency estimation by Brian C
The tube length is probably about 1.5 m (based on person standing near by).

The fundamental wavelength for a tube open at both ends is 2*L where L is the length of the pipe (there are antinodes at both ends, so half of a wavelength fits the length of the pipe).

So wavelength* freq = speed of sound
freq=speed of sound / (2L)
=344 m/s / 3 = 114.7 Hz

Could be an A# at 116.54 Hz, or an A at 110 Hz

Viewing the picture again, if that is the last pipe, then the lowest note on the keyboard I can see is a C (can't see the foot pedals), and C's have a frequency of 130.82 Hz. I measured the height from my knee to head and found it to be 1.2m. So revising the calc
Freq=344/2.4=143.3Hz... getting closer...

There is an end correction for a circular pipe 1.3 x Diameter that must be added to the length of the pipe... the diameter looks to be around 10cm or 0.10 m so the corrected length of the pipe is 0.13+1.2 = 1.33
Freq=344/2.66=129 Hz (almost dead on the C)

Found a picture of a pipe organ, looks like I thought, the foot pedal has a low note of C as well...

Based on this picture from the Jehmlich organ manufacturer in Dresden, Germany, estimate the frequency of sound produced by the organ pipe held by the man. Assume that the pipe is a tube open at both ends. Explain your logic and thought process used to determine this.
