The Pentium 3 (P3) is the minimum requirement, not the specific requirement. And if you want one, I have a shelf full of P3 processors I'll sell you for 5 bucks each.
They are old, outdated, and they are no longer manufactured.
If you get a Core Duo, you will be more than fine. Anything a P3 can do, the Duo can do much better. |

The pentium 3 is really old. They stopped making them in '03.
The Duo Core processors are newer and more powerful (they are like having two processors at the same time)
If you buy a Pentium 3 computer, you will be buying a used, outdated computer. There is really no reason why you'd HAVE to buy this. For what reason do they say it has to be a Pentium 3? |

I need a new computer for school but have specifics on what it is supposed to be. It needs a Pentium 3 processor, but all the ones I've looked at have intel Core Duo processors. What is the difference, and will it make a difference if I get the intel processor instead of the Pentium processor?
Thanks! |
