If latter, then you should have no problems if the crawler for the English yahoo is already visiting your website. If you want to get your website listed on the portals' directories, then it'll cost you a bit. With all the major portal sites other than yahoo Japan, you have to pay to get registered through X-recommend. It cost you 42,000yen (around $400) for normal sites, 84,000yen for shopping sites, and 105,000yen for porn sites & dating sites. This does not guarantee your website get listed in all the directories, so you got to make sure you have already got high quality website. With regards to yahoo Japan, it is the toughest one to get listed at the moment. If your website is for a commercial purposes (e.g. company website or shopping website), then I recommend you to go for yahoo Business Express. You need to pay, but you would have much higher chance of getting registered. If your website is non-profit one, or if you simply don't have enough money to do it, then you got to apply through the yahoo Japan Categories page. This is said to be super tough. My personal tip is, don't bother trying for it until you have got traffic of at least few hundred unique visits per day, and enough back links such that your Google Ranks would be up around 4. Also, it has to be very unique. If there are similar sites already registered in the same category, then you would never get it. |
